Iute has been successfully certified for SEPA payments
Iute Group’s subsidiary in Bulgaria has been successfully certified to make and receive payments through SEPA, the Single Euro Payments Area. This certification connects Iute directly to the European financial infrastructure, enabling seamless euro transfers across borders.
SEPA makes euro payments work seamlessly across all participating countries, as if they were local transfers. For customers, this means faster and safer money transfers between countries – without the barriers that traditionally come with cross-border payments.
“With this achievement, Iute’s subsidiary in Bulgaria strengthens its position as a strategic hub for the Group and paves the way for SEPA access in all countries where Iute operates now and will operate in the future,” said Elmaz Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of IutePay Bulgaria.
SEPA access allows Iute to process IBAN-to-IBAN transfers, including international ones, as well as automated and batch payments. It also connects Iute with local, European, and international systems, making payments faster and easier for customers.
In recent years, several Southeast European countries have joined SEPA. Albania and Montenegro were approved for participation in November 2024, North Macedonia and Moldova in March 2025, and Serbia in May 2025. Thanks to this expansion, Iute customers in the region will benefit from direct access to European-standard payments, without complicated interim solutions.
The certification was granted within the national payment system BISERA, operated by Borica, and follows the Electronic Money Institution license that Iute received from the Bulgarian National Bank in December 2024.
Iute’s long-term vision is to become a fully digital bank in every market where it operates by combining loans, payments, and insurance brokerage into one seamless customer experience through the Myiute app.
